Finance Department
The Finance Department is responsible for safeguarding the assets of Crisp County through the development and implementation of sound financial policies and practices. The Department provides financial management and support to County departments, officials, and the Board of Commissioners.
Responsibilities include budget development and administration, accounting, auditing, payroll processing, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset management, financial reporting, obtaining and administering federal and state grants, and mail services.
The Finance Department is also responsible for issuing business licenses and administering the County’s occupation tax, regulatory fees, administrative fees, Adult Entertainment Ordinance, and Alcohol Beverage License Ordinance. The Department also verifies that contractors licensed by the State maintain current and valid certifications.
Through sound financial management, accountability, and transparency, the Finance Department supports the effective and responsible operation of Crisp County government and the delivery of services to its citizens.
