County Facilities and Parks

The Crisp County Recreation Department offers an award-winning professional staff and a multitude of programs and facilities to meet the needs of the citizens of Crisp County.

With a diverse network of 15 parks and specialized facilities designed to serve the citizens of Cordele and visitors from across the region. These facilities support various sports, community events, and outdoor leisure activities. Premier Athletic Facilities

The county's flagship sporting venues provide high-quality environments for both local leagues and regional tournaments.

  • Crisp County Youth Ball Complex: A 77-acre site featuring 12 multi-use baseball and softball fields, ranging from 200-ft to 360-ft fences. It includes four all-weather batting cages, four concession stands, and a covered pavilion.
  • Soccer Fields: A dedicated 2-field complex for competitive league and tournament play.
  • F. Cary Cason Football Field: Used for youth football leagues and practices.
  • Action Skate Park: A modular 100-ft x 90-ft skate park featuring a half pipe, kinked grind rails, and skateable benches/tables.

Recreation Center & Indoor Amenities

The central Crisp County Recreation Center serves as the administrative hub and provides several indoor community spaces:

  • Athletic Spaces: A gymnasium, racquetball court, and dance/tumbling room.
  • Community Rooms: A banquet room for events, a lounge, and dedicated meeting rooms.
  • Outdoor Connections: The center is located near a full-size regulation track and an athletic practice field.

Local Parks & Public Amenities

Beyond major athletic complexes, the county maintains neighborhood parks with diverse recreational features:

  • Public Playgrounds: Features swings and a newly constructed playground area.
  • General Park Amenities: Across the 11-park system, visitors can find walking tracks, basketball and tennis courts, horseshoe pits, and fishing docks.
  • Aquatics: Two city pools are available for open swim and professional swim lessons during the summer months.
  • Water Access: The department also manages a boat ramp for local water recreation on Lake Blackshear.

Each of the parks located throughout the city limits are open from dusk to dawn every day for the community to enjoy.
