The Crisp County Board of Commissioners is composed of five members elected at large from two multi-post districts. Commissioners serve staggered six-year terms. The Board annually elects a Chairman and Vice-Chairman from among its members.
The Board of Commissioners serves as the governing body of Crisp County and is responsible for establishing policies and providing oversight of the administration and operation of county government. Its responsibilities include adopting the annual county budget, establishing property tax rates, adopting policies governing county operations, and enacting ordinances necessary to maintain public order and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Crisp County. The Board of Commissioners also conducts Public Hearings to consider zoning/rezoning requests and Special Use requests.
Through responsible governance and fiscal oversight, the Board works to ensure that county government operates efficiently, effectively, and in the best interests of the citizens it serves.
