Meetings

MINUTES OF THE CRISP COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
PUBLIC FORUM HELD ON JANUARY 14, 2013

Chairman A. James Nance called the public forum to order at 6:00 p.m., with Commissioners Wallace Mathis, Clark Henderson, Sammie Farrow, Jr., Larry Felton, and Administrator Tom Patton in attendance. He welcomed all in attendance. He explained that this is a public meeting to allow the citizens of Crisp County a chance to offer comments regarding the idea of implementing residential curbside garbage pickup in the unincorporated areas of the county. He asked everyone to state their opinion but be respectful of others, this will not be a debate, and the commissioners will not be engaging in dialog with the citizens at this meeting. He stated that the purpose of this meeting is for them to hear from the citizens by providing them an opportunity to speak and for them to listen. Hopefully the comments provided today will help them in making the right decision regarding this issue. He stated that as far as he is concerned, no commissioner has any type of predisposed decision already, and they will be open to the public comments. Chairman Nance gave the invocation and then led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. The commissioners received comments from several concerned citizens, and the citizens' names that spoke are attached. After the public comments were concluded, Chairman Nance thanked the citizens for coming and advised that they will take these comments into consideration before this decision will be made. He closed the public forum at 7:10 p.m.
