MINUTES
CRISP COUNTY ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
July 20, 2004
9:00 A.M.

The Crisp County Zoning Board of Appeals met at their regular scheduled meeting on the 20th day of July 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at the Crisp County Courthouse. The following members were present: Jerome Outlaw, Robert Powell, Emmett Walker and Bob McCadams. Absent was member Mark Brubaker, also present, Connie Sangster, Planning Director and Secretary to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Jimmy Mumphery, County Building Inspector. Also present were the following visitors: Mr. & Mrs. Curry.

PUBLIC HEARING

Request from Maurice Curry for a variance to reduce the required 35 front yard setback to 10 for the purpose of constructing an enclosed garage. Property zoned RR (Rural Residential) and being located at 2196 Arabi-Warwick Road.

Mr. Outlaw, Chairman, called the hearing to order. Mr. Outlaw read aloud the criteria in which a variance request is handled. Mr. & Mrs. Curry was present and spoke on their own behalf. Ms. Curry stated to the members that she and her husband are both handicap and need the enclosed garage to get in and out of the car during bad weather. Ms. Curry showed the members photos of her existing home and where she would like to put the garage. Bob McCadams asked if the garage would be totally enclosed. Ms. Curry replied yes and it would also have a garage door and be attached to the existing structure and also have a concrete floor. Jerome Outlaw asked Ms. Curry about the distance on each side of her existing home. Ms. Curry stated that on the right side is 30 and the left side is 151/2. Ms. Curry also stated that the proposed garage would be to the front of the structure. Jerome Outlaw asked if there were other comments from the board. There were none. At this time, Mr. Outlaw concluded the public hearing portion of the meeting.

MEETING

After discussion, the chairman asked for a motion. VOTE: A motion was made by Bob McCadams, seconded by Robert Powell to approve the variance to reduce the required front yard setback from 35 to 10. Carried unanimously 3-0.

MINUTES

VOTE: A motion was made by Emmett Walker, seconded by Robert Powell to approve the Minutes of March 16, 2004. Carried unanimously 3-0.
